Where is everyone fishing, I have three girls that would love to catch anything. Been looking at Google Earth and just trying to figure it out.
If you going with kids I heard some were catching em at miller bridge . Not as muddy . Good luck

Based on my expierence alot of fly fisherman have the upper hand when it comes to natural presentation
Flyfisherman almost never have an upper hand over live bait. It IS all about presentation however. IMHO, you are not a true flyfisherman until the double haul just "clicks" and you get it...I mean really get it. It isn't hard, but once you have timing down and it's mindless, you can double haul all day long. Once you've spent some time casting, the double haul just comes naturally...and with feel. I can put a whole line out there with a lee wulff triangle taper...on a 4 wt!! It is not about strength, but more about timing. That being said, I'd be happy to give some casting lessons free of charge. Especially to kids. Love seeing kids pick up a flyrod. PM me.

Hey CSCCL. I have heard the fishing barge can be kid friendly.I have a friend that goes there often after dark since the lights attract fish. I dont know if its good right now though, sorry. But is I had kids that is where I would try on a fri/sat night. Good luck. I'm not catchin em either.

Just got done cleaning my take. Went out with my dad today. Only brought home 4 nice sized females, but we caught a good number of small whites and yellows. My dad caught 2 drum on jigs. Black rooster tail caught some, as did pink jigs. White marabous with red heads and white eyes did pretty well. Just too many small fish. Overall, fishing was slow, and everyone we ran into had the same story. This was at the southern end of the creek, so luck may have been better towards Miller.

Both. Fished most of the day without. Tried drifting and twitching a fluke under a bobber the last 10 min or so, but didn't do any good with it.

Went fishing this afternoon at Miller, and caught two crappie (see one below). Got many sandy dinks. Did catch a large one which was about 12 inch. I was not sure if it's a small hybrid (saw some broken lines and two long stripes) or a sandy. The tooth patch was not clear to see. To avoid any troubles, I just released it. LOL

Tough call on that one. I think you were right to let it go.
I've heard that whites and yellows can cross in the wild. I wonder what the pattern looks like with that hybrid.

I'm gonna call whitexyellow hybrid on that one. Buddy on here caught one a few years ago on Hubbard that looked just like that.
