I have noticed that for about the last six months that Cabelas in Ft Worth has really gone bad, no one available in departments for help and when there is an employee it's like pulling teeth to get them to even acknowledge you that you are even there. In the fishing department they have no knowledgeable people who work there, a couple of guys who know nothing and two girls one who is very friendly and is very helpful and appears to know her stuff but the other in my opinion is just there for a pay check. I have come to notice that this same kind of thing is happening in most of the departments across the store, I am a big hunter and fisherman and did do all my shopping there and used my Cabela card on most of my purchases to get points but after my last visit yesterday I

It's not just the FW Cabelas. I've been disappointed by multiple Bass Pro and Cabelas locations--lack of helpfulness and 90% of the time they don't have what I'm looking for.

Because nobody wants to work with the public for bread and water pay. True SpiderJig but I have also noticed this at alot of places. Including jobs such as mine in Power Plant Operations. We make dang good money for a job that is not very physically demanding. Basically 95% of the time we don't do much but simply make rounds and other very simple stuff like looking at TFF.com yet some of the workers I work with complain about being asked to do anything by the supervisor. It has gotten out of control lately. Maybe I am just new to the "gravy job" scene. Everyday I think about how fortunate I am to be blessed with the job and look back at some of the jobs I have had working 7 12s in the heat/cold for half the pay. Sorry Rant Over

I had a problem with Cabelas online that they never straightened out either. I just quit buying from them. Many other better places to deal with.

And we live in a lazy "give it to me for free" society. I quit shopping at the big box stores for this reason. APT, Fishin World, TW get my business now

The Allen Cabela's has been everything I need. Did an online to store order and everything went as planned. Helpful staff when I have a question and smart enough not to hound me when I don't have a question. They have some brands/colors/baits that I can't find elsewhere so I am glad they are available.

Only Cabelas i go to is in Gonzales, LA. Go there twice a year when working in Grand Bayou. They know there [censored] in that store. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Probably has to do with that part of the country. Most people down there are super friendly and helpful no matter what you are doing or where you are. I have the same problem at Bass Pro's in Houston though. Both of them, its like the employees are hiding, deaf or dumb.

Did you talk to a manager about it? Did you tell any of the associates that you needed help and you shouldn't have to come to them to get it? I realize you shouldn't have to do this but if everyone continues to take the crappy service in life and only rant on this stupid forum about it, then do you really think it's gonna get any better.
Today's society is gonna get away with whatever you let them. The majority is lazy. If more people would grow some balls and call people out then things would improve a little. But people are more willing to accept the crappy service on site and then come here to complain about it.
Stand up for what's right and raise some hell.

I blame the internet. . .seriously. It seems like there's just a shortage of people knowledgeable about fishing and the outdoors. The majority of kids these days don't go out and play in the dirt and get hurt and learn to use guns like we did when we were kids. They don't get much life experience about anything really. It's making all of us dumber.

The internet and texting has allowed society to become inverts and then old days of just visiting with others is over. This will only get worse. Before long, people will become very uncomfortable talking to people face to face.

I've been shopping at that store since they opened and have had nothing but great service. Just last week when I bought a couple of the Yeti Colsters I wound up getting a $20 gift card from the manager over the cashiers because the register didn't print a receipt and I had to wait a moment for them to correct the issue. For the overall selection and location I don't think there's anything out there better. Not to mention their stores are very clean. Hard to find that around these parts nowadays. to the TFF

Cabelas has always had good service towards me. No matter where you go, you're not going to find people crawling up your butt trying to wait on you hand and foot. The largest retailer in the world who employs the most people doesn't even come close to the service you can find in cabelas. If you really want to know what bad service is, come on out to the Midland/Odessa area! I will stick with Cabelas as my favorite place to shop, especially the FT. Worth store!

I agree. The Allen store is well staffed and fools are helpful.
