There are some already in the creek, most are farther down miller. do you mean downstream from miller in this post?
I only fish on days that end in Y!

benp, yes they are below Miller's. You can them surface as they go upstream. Lot of smaller ones, but fun to catch anyway. I was there a few days ago for the first time and got eight of them, six throw backs and two nice males.
Was at Old Alton bridge yesterday for a half hour and got a few hits, but that was it. Again mostly males ready to spawn. Some one needs to put out a "ladies night" sign up to get the females into the creeks. hopefully this wet weather we are going to get does it.

I drove by there once and saw boats and kayaks a ew years ago made it hard to bank fish You can walk down the crushed granite trail of the Rowlett Nature Trail on the east bank. Just cut across the grass to hit the creek. If you cross to the other side, there are trails from years of walking up and down the side. That's a little more treacherous of a hike though. I do think the access to spots is better on that side because there are good places after the split. I've caught and seen caught nice females and (too small) hybrids way down there. The thing about the creek though, is that before the split, the creek gets really wide and shallow for a long stretch. Like kyakers have to walk and drag shallow. Some fish may still come up anyway, but it's probably going to take another big rain to encourage the larger fish to make their way up to the Miller bridge. I hope the hard stop at the dams this year won't cause everything to get completely fished out because they are stacked up at Miller and 100 fishermen are pulling out limits every day.

Harmless, learn your snakes. That pic was just a joke. It wasn't even taken at Rowlett Creek. I was just kinda going along with the joke of don't go down to the creek there's scary snakes down there. I scared that snake when I almost stepped on it, and then I took its picture cause it looked cool.

Went out there for a couple of hours this evening. Crappie were being caught by lots of people. I came home with 3 crappie and a big female sand bass today. Also caught some little sand bass and yellow bass that I threw back. Black rooster tail was the ticket tonight. As soon as I switched to that, it was on. Game wardens are out! Measure those questionable fish! They measured my smallest crappie, and I was legal by 1/2 an inch.

Astimo and I were out there yesterday afternoon for an hour or so before sundown. Neither of us caught anything but the jigs we were using were too big. There was a guy to my left fly fishing with a tiny chartrouse jig. 1/64 i believe he said. We watched him pull in a fish literally every two minutes at most. Said he had caught almost a hundred in a few hours. There were about 20 people in the water within eye shot.
Game wardens stopped us on the way out and checked lisences and watched them ticket the guys before us, so make sure your legal!
