I have had great service fom the Cabela's in Allen. They shipped me a hunting vest from there store in South Dakota for free and called me whne it got there. I have never had any dealings with there fishing dept. but, guess you get some good and some bad wherever you go.

Cabelas and BPS both suck how do u expect them to have good CS if they pay 8-10$ an hour. Also frankly they don't care because it will cost them more money and time to hire and staff individuals who want to be there and who are knowledgable about the products they sell than they will ever get back. The consumer market today is driven by oine shopping business arnt seeing returns like they used to from their big stores so they get rid of people who demand more pay

In my opinion the pay rate is no excuse to not help people shopping in their stores. They had an idea what the pay scale was when they applied and then knew what they were being payed before they accepted the job. So if they don't want to dress nice and work in a climate controlled environment helping customers then they can always work outside in the heat and cold digging ditches where they don't have to help anybody for the same pay or less.

Agree 100% they knew the pay rate when they went to work there, plus what everyone seems to miss out on is standing around texting or facebooking is not a way to get a pay raise or move up in the company, how many on here has a good job that came from not doing anything but standing around looking stupid, like me, my position in my company came from hard work, and learning everything I could about the field Im in. You don't pay someone to work hard, you work hard to get better pay.

I like to shop at Cabelas over BPS simply because they have the stuff I'm looking for that BPS doesn't carry. But as far as asking the Cabelas reps for help... the last time I did that, they looked at me like I was crazy...and didn't help at all...

Did you talk to a manager about it? Did you tell any of the associates that you needed help and you shouldn't have to come to them to get it? I realize you shouldn't have to do this but if everyone continues to take the crappy service in life and only rant on this stupid forum about it, then do you really think it's gonna get any better.
Today's society is gonna get away with whatever you let them. The majority is lazy. If more people would grow some balls and call people out then things would improve a little. But people are more willing to accept the crappy service on site and then come here to complain about it.
Stand up for what's right and raise some hell. Unfortunately more and more of the bigger employers are becoming more politically correct when disciplining an individual employee. So no one gets disciplined or the whole staff gets it. Playing the race card now days is the answer to everything

Last time I went in that store was about 8 years ago. They put an ad in their flyer for bulk (500-1000 rounds) 7.62x39 ammo. I drove over there from Tyler to pick it up on the first day it went on sale. Not only were they out of stock, but they didn't have a single box in stock nation-wide. They were just putting it in the flyer to get you in the store. And I'd driven over 100 miles to get there, so I gave the manager an earful and left and haven't set foot in a Cabela's since.
FWIW, I shop at BPS at least once a month. Cabela's lost thousands of dollars in sales because of that crummy ad tactic. They'd have to be giving stuff away for free for me to go there, because they're not getting another penny from me.
