Fished a Hill county pond during this warm up spell. Once the sun rays warmed up the water a little the fish turned on. I fished from 10am till 1:30pm and caught over 40 nice Bluegill and Redear. Several nice Bass rounded out the catch. Worms with a bottom technique were used. Pond fishing at it's BEST. It just don't get any better. fish

Very nice Chuck!

I believe you've told me before, but refresh my memory.... what is your "bottom technique"? I tend to use the drop shot most of the time.

Thanks Jamie,Chris,Bob,and "Peytonator" for the replies. cheers Bob: I let these go. I will most definitely be using that smoke recipe in the very near future. Will post a story on it for sure. food If you smoke some before me,let us know how they turn out. thumb "Peytonator": Texas rig a night crawler on a size six cricket hook. Put a size five or six shot on about six inches above the hook. hmmm Cast out and bounce the worm off of the bottom. During the winter time I usually let the worm sit on the bottom longer before bouncing it.(Slow retrieve). If you are using the drop shot method you will not go wrong with that! Fred "Rionator" and Mike "USMC_GY" use it all the time and are drop shot Gurus. hooked

Side Note: The fish were full of fight. boxing The ultra light really got a work out! eeks

Banker, I guess you could call that a "split-shot rig" for gills, huh?

Thanks! I'll have to give that a try. The drop shot is great, I think I started using it after the first time I fished with Fred. He definitely knows how to catch some big sunfish, I was with him when he caught that huge redear that was the official Dunlap record for a little bit before you took it over! I think you were the one that took it to get weighed and us 3 ate at Jack in the Box that day too. Haven't heard from him in awhile, hope he's doing alright.
