Yeah on the TP&WD page for Conroe it says that they have interviewed people with 12"ers in their possession. It's only a matter of time before I get one grin! Ive heard Stubblefield to be good but hardly go that far North. Which Subdivision? We have a private dock in ours too. Any time you wanna try it out feel free. Also TP&WD has a public boat ramp that isn't too bad of a fishing spot either!

Well... it took me quite some time to dig through some of my pictures but I picked out some of which I thought were the best. There are a lot, but I hope y'all enjoy them as much as I do! I mean what is having pictures worth if you don't share them for others to enjoy as well. I believe most, if not all of them, are hybrids!

Paytonator, that pic of the sunny with the notch in the back looks like it survived being bait at one point and healed up, almost like someone used it to try and catch a big blue or fatty

Eventually, luck will change. Skills, however, can be honed, added to, and improved.

Im not the best at locating them but Im gettin better!

Do you fish from a boat or the bank? I live in Brenham and have only fished Conroe once. I love fly fishing for sunfish, especially big sunfish, LOL!!!

Hook-Line and Sinker had shown a huge colony of beds on one of his videos. The google image was taken when the lake was low. I suspect the Spawn will be the first week in April on the full moon so I need to locate that video again.

I actually fish both. My dad has a boat we take out, I have a kayak, and I fish from the bank. I bought a fly rod last year but kinda gave up on it lol, I think I need to try again this year. I havent targeted sunfish beds in Lake Conroe before. But I agree with you on the start of April being a good shot on them bedding up. By April Im usually catching Cats and Hybrid Striper. But I always bring a perch pole too! I actually caught an 18lb Bluecat on my perch hook last year lol. Once it warms up the.most consistent spot to catch Sunfish for me is on rocks. You can never go wrong fishing the rocks. The bridges hold them too and there are a few brushy areas we fish as well, boat docks seem to be at their best in September even though you can catch them there all summer. Overall I think Conroe is definitely a good Sunfish lake from bank and boat!

Great information, I will check that out, thanks. I also have a kayak and small jon boat. The area I am thinking of is a fairly protected cove so I will probably hit it with the kayak.

I believe his neighborhood is called Corinthian Point, it's in Willis. Which neighborhood is yours? There's a locked gate on the dock in his so you need to live there/know someone who does to be able to unlock it. If yours doesn't have a lock I may try it out sometime. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to disclose it publicly. Are you talking about Scott's Ridge or the FM 830 ramp? I'm also tempted to try and kayak/fish the rocks by Stow-A-Way one of these days on the opposite side of Calvary Road from the Marina.

Great pics by the way, 8th one down almost looks like a Pumpkinseed.

Yeah I've seen a few with a wound like that. I hear most likely a turtle or bird or something got a bite out of him.

Anytime. Yeah there are plenty of good coves that should defintely be holding spawning Sunfish not too long from now. When this weather warms up and stays warm, Im gonna be getting back out there and Ill make sure and let you know when, what, and where.
