I just wanna give a formal thank you to Rick aka "Optimus Prime". He has been one amazing friend...when I sunk my boat back in December, I didn't even have to post a thread or ask anybody for help to get it out...one call to Rick and he dropped everything he was doing, loaded up his boat, and headed to lake worth, and busted his a$$ to helphis fellow fishermen.well after some long hours and well after dark we ended up getting my boat afloat. Another thing that he has selflessly done is when I was having a lot of trouble catching bait in spending countless hours throwing my net with no results he informed me about tape cast nets. I thanked him for the advice and told him that I would have to wait till payday since I could not afford one at the time. So what did Rick do? he ordered me a brand new 7ft fitec gs1500 Ultra spreader with tape and instead of asking me to pay him back he told me Merry Christmas and insisted that I keep my money. These are just a couple of the things that he has so selflessly done to help out his fellow fishermen, which is what it's all about. This thread may sound corny but I figured it should be known how above and beyond he has gone. I can't tell you about the other things Rick has done to help me since they are super secret fishing advice. Hahaha. But anyways. This man has gone above and beyond to help his fellow fisherman and we could all learn a thing or 2 from him about being selfless. He is what our sport is all about, helping others. But yeah. I just figured I would make this thread because I feel like he deserves recognition for everything he has done to help me out and without asking or accepting anything in return even when I insisted..I think he should be the fisherman of the month!! OPTIMUS FOR PRESIDENT!!! lmao

Awesome post, I met him a few weeks ago. Seems like a great guy. Nice to have a friend that's always willing to lend a hand.

Awesome post, I met him a few weeks ago. Seems like a great guy. Nice to have a friend that's always willing to lend a hand. oh yeah. He is a great guy. I'm sure he would give the last of the bait that he had to someone he thought needed it more. We should all be more like Rick and put our fellow fishermen's needs before our own

Sounds like a great guy. Nothing corny about showing your appreciation in my opinion. Sounds like a true friend

Best thing one can take from someone like that is to pay it forward to someone else in future fishing. I have helped others towing them in and giving little bits of the knowledge I know or helping them load a boat in unfavorable conditions. Not that I necessarily wanted to at the time but it's what makes us who we are. Awesome post and hats of to Optimus prime!
