At least the little rain we gave had has brought it up a bit. It's 6.75' low nit counting the snow melt which will not be much. Beats being over 7' like it has been.

That area of Little Mustang,Big Mustang,Williams creek has always been filled with scattered stumps. If the SRA added buoys for safety reasons they should maintain them to be safe IMO.

I know they could make it a lot safer for all of us and they have a few guys probably not doing much this time of year that could go cut down and clear some lanes for the future. Again IMO.

The buoys are a plus so do not take that wrong I am glad they are there for a reference. Cant line up trees like in the old days to run from point A-B.

The stump in the mouth of Birch had to get hit about 20 plus times before the SRA marked it. Not sure how deep the other one is next to it but I seem to remember 2 stumps there not just the one that is marked.

Does Navionics or another chip maker have things like the standing timber in these lakes marked?

What were you doing so far from the buoy? 25ft from the buoy yeah you would prob hit a stump, you should hug the buoy so tight, you can slap it as you go by.

I do believe it would be nice to have all the stumps marked with a buoy, but just don't think that would be reasonable with the water this low. I believe at this 7 plus feet we are going to see lots of stumps coming to the surface and not sure they can or will put that many buoys out and keep them out. just my .02

Easier to just drive marker rods into the top of the stump, water goes back up, they'll stay and water goes back down , markers rods be there , if no one runs them over.

I would think this is not the last time Lake Fork will be this low so if I were the SRA I would adjust everything now so that next time we are at this level it would be a little easier to get around for anyone who does or does not know the lake. Prepair for the future now ! IMO. Safety First !

They could drop a hazard area buoy or flag a area of caution. Like on the East arm up the old road bed they had buoys there till years ago when it got low they pulled them for safety reasons.Did not want anyone to hit the concrete bridges. Now it is run at your on risk.

I don't disagree with this at all. I just don't think it will happen and if they are going to do something, it would be better to wait till next fall because if we don't get some rain it will be a lot lower then.

It has general timbered areas marked but usually little to no detail for those areas.

Sounds like I am gonna spend most of the summer at idle as I learn these lakes.

I used to see stump cutter barges on Toledo bend all the time clearing boat lanes. You would think one could do that at Fork?

Good coverage or not I would just hate to have a boat down when the spring fishing is about to fire up.
