Those bowfin are a fight on a light action rod. monsterfireworks were you fishing with a latern or lights? Or just casting by the relection? I was fishing the other evening and the fish were still biting well after dark but it was very difficult to make accurate casts without getting hung up. It gets dark in them woods after sunset
If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

I took my green light that I made.the white bass we're actually spooked by the green light. I put it in the water and caught two fish in that hole and then nothing. Left the light and move to another hole. came back to the light about 30 minutes later and didn't catch anything.pull the light out and call all my fish in that hole. actually had 25 fish when I got home and clean them. My cow clicker broke so I guess it's time for a new one. All fish from the wma.

I fished from Newman bottom to wolf pond didn't catch nothing, drove over to the pipe and got couple bites but that's it. I should have banked fished like everyone one else. [video:youtube]caught nothing: http://youtu.be/OFQGsRL5b9I[/video]

I have no clue what happened yesterday. Got there around 11 in the morning, caught three real quick, after that, it was one here one there. Really bad day, only caught 8.I did see some good stringers, so the fish just didn't want what I had to offer is all.

I saw some nice stringers caught, but not on my end. People who got there at day break caught limits. A few others who fished with crawfish were pulling them in one right after another. I saw so much fish activity it wasn't funny. In fact it made one try that much harder. It did me any ways. Sitting here now trying to decide if I want go and get my rear end handed to me again or not. Even considering the fact that I might try to catch some crawfish to use. Never tried to catch crawfish before, so I will be that funny looking guy around the bar ditches doing stupid looking stuff.

Can anyone recommend a place around here to camp that's still close enough to the creeks that I can fish there too. Was planning an early March trip to cbsp like usual but water levels look so bad I don't think I'll be able to make it out there. Would love to try some of the creeks on sommerville bit I need to be able to camp within a reasonable driving/walking distance.

What an experience. I learned two things today, how to catch crawfish and how to properly put them on my hook to catch white bass. I missed so many fish before figuring it out. It was a learning curve for sure. Not a good day, but ok. End the day with 12 on crawfish and 4 more on jigs. Left them biting, got to dang cold. And I do not want to go back outside to clean them, but I have no choice. At least Ill be out of the wind though. The bite for me has slowed down, dont know what its going to take to get limit. I can see plenty of fish, I just cant find what they want and how they want it. But it was a fun day, learned a few new tricks, so its all good.
Oh, I also saw fishingfool40 and called out his name several times, but he never did answer me back. Watched him pull one out of the drink.

Fished yesterday from 2:20-dark in the WMA. Caught 10 fish, 7 whites, 2 goos, and one fat slab crappie. Took home the 7 white and the crappie. Bite was a little slower, water level was down, wind was up and the temp was down. Water was green but a little cloudy with the light rain. Who knows what will happen after this front, may try to scout it out later this week.
