Update to the TxG3DV charter scheduled for August 8th-9th, 2015 on the Scat Cat out of Fisherman's Wharf in Port Aransas, Texas.
FW has extended the deposit deadline to April 30th as a courtesy to TxGrizzly booking with FW for the last 4 years.
In order to make this charter happen we'll need deposits of $160 per spot by April 30th. No exceptions to securing a spot with at least that minimum amount. Interest in joining TxG3DV doesn't work, skin in the game counts for the next 44 days. If there is not enough commitment by April 30th, 2015 in deep dropping, then the charter will be cancelled.
TxG3DV currently has 13 committed fishermen on the charter. Interested folks can contact us at the information on the first post.

Understanding the ""Interest in joining TxG3DV doesn't work, skin in the game counts for the next 44 days"", I'd like to ask for (3) spots, payment to be put in the mail Friday.

Is a 50SDS enough for the "big" reel of the trip, or should I be thinking wider or bigger?

L The SDS reel you mentioned in post above, is this an AVET 50? Wide? if so perfect, if I get to go and want to, I will be bringing an AVET 30 & 50 Trx same as a 30-50 wide just different guts. A 50 is plenty of reel for anything in the gulf and most guys use something similar to a Shimano 20-30TLD or maybe a Penn Senator or Avet in that class. I have a Shimano Tiagra 30W and Calstar 40-100 rod that I use for my stand up rod and it's plenty for anything we might find.

Come on boys! I need some more people to put money in the big AJ pot so I can pay for this trip! Chuck, the trash talking deep dropper!  TxG3DV is at 16 2d's (deep droppers) right now based on deposits paid. We're liking the position the charter is in but need 8 more folks as chuck needs new shoes! Holler at us if interested in jumping on, the charter is a blast with the 3 F's; great folks, food, and fishing!
