Been out this winter playing with Humminbird ONIX Down Imaging and the more I use the more I am amazed at the details it provides. Here are some recent examples that help learn more what's below the water's surface.

Is the onix DI better than the 1199 di?

Yes the ONIX is better

The Onix transducer has a dedicated crystal for DI. The 1199 DI is a software calculation using the SI images and data. So the Onix DI is much clearer for sure.

So that being said, which would yall prefer, an 1199 or Onix 8?

ONIX DI is from and extra dedicated DI element in the transducer

Great pics Doug...have you heard when the onix will be able to be linked with an 1199? Still havent gotten a straight answer there....why I ran (4) 1199 this year, and not 3 & 1

It's not going to be a simple task since the ONIX is a totally new platform of Hardware and Software. Even different Operating Systems that allow them to offer more features and better data processing. It has been asked for but nothing officially announced if it is even possible.

Here's some of the cool things ONIX can do is build custom mapping with AutoChart LIVE you can save 8 hours in the unit or add a ZeroLine card and save days and days worth of custom mapping to use.
