Caught a limit sat, but it took all day. Caught 5 early in the morning, one of which was a 16" monster. Bite shut down around mid morning. Took a lunch break, starting fishig again around 230. Picked up 4 pretty quick, the. It's slacked off again, moved around the. Finally found them stacked up in some deep green water. Finished off my limit in less than an hour, right before dark. All fish were caught on pearl/ chart curl tail and shad on 1/8 and 1/16 head.
If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

With the water flow slowing way down, these fish will turn their tail and head back to the lake. We need some rain to keep these fish in the creeks. This cold front should help slow things down a little, but we need the extra water from any showers we can get, or this spawn could end in the creeks sooner than we would like. Was at Newmans Bottom Thur. Sat & Sun. Fished from 9am to 3pm all three days. I was glad to be back out in all of mother natures glory. I remembered how beautiful it is out there. I also noticed the water levels lowering, and the water flow slowing each day. I caught around a dozen each day the first 2 days. Only 1 Sunday. I didn't see many fish come out Sunday. most folks had 2 or 3. one father & son had about 8 each. 5 of 10 folks had nothing but a frustrated look on their faces. The fish are probably further upstream this year than in the past. We walked a long way upstream from NB each day. It seemed the further one was willing to walk upstream, the more fish they might catch. We caught a few here and there. But I wasn't willing to walk up too far. As it is, I am worn out from all the hiking we did trying to get upstream. I'm at home today with sore muscles. I was thinking what Fishytx was saying. I'm hoping the spawn continues and the fish don't go back to the lakes anytime soon. come on rain. But the bite has definately slowed at NB. It might be that Fishytx has caught them all! Man, that guy knows his business n these creeks. tight lines all!
Shut up and fish!

TFTR's Looks like a few more nice size females are still being pulled out.... Should have got up earlier yesterday I'm off today and getting paid for 8hours So I got up early, and was planning to be fishing "The Yegua" by 8 or 9... And be getting paid to fish(my life long dream ) It's still 65 degrees in Gidding's, but already 41 degrees at my house... Supposed to drop to around 50 degrees in Giddings in the next hour or so...And around 47 by noon... So looks like my next trip will have to wait still next Saturday(if off) or at least Sunday !!Good Fishing And Fun To All!!

I have a guy bashing me about posting fishing reports on a different fishing forum. He claims I am giving up to much details on the location of this place. I hate to bust his bubble, but this information has been revealed years and years a go.

Fished Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and caught 41 whites, two crappie. Caught everything way up the Yegua, farther up than where Monsterfireworks fished that same day). Caught the last 26 fish in the same hole! They were still biting when I left. I kept 20 (and that was too many for the long walk back). The last hole held mostly females 14-15 inches. Used 3/16th inch pearl-colored curly tail on hot pink jig head.

Funny thing is, you could give somebody GPS coordinates to a spot, and they could still go there and get skunked. So many other variables involved.
