I have the Master Lock combo for the trailer and the receiver hitch, uses the same key for both.

Requires a seperate 'pin' lock

Separate lock, separate key. Use this and the ball mount lock picture above in first post.
Arghhhhhhh.....be nice to have ONE KEY but, that's what I'm using

A LoJack type device on the trailer or even the boat would seem more effective. None of those locks are tamper proof.

I use that same lock but also have a lock through the latch. I put the U lock on, close the trailer latch so that it's locked on the ball and put a pin lock through the latch. Makes me feel better but I doubt it would be too difficult to steal.

I have a lock that goes in where the safety pin is. And its only long enough to fit inside, so nobody can cut through. Meaning the lever would not come up, and you couldnt lower the tongue onto a hitch if its locked. and then you always have the lock inside as a safety pin, because youre not going anywhere without a safety pin. like this

I use the pin style like pictured above. But if they want it bad enough they will get it. I live in the sticks and my boat is under the carport and hardly ever unhooked from my truck as I fish every weekend. As for the spare I do use a cable lock.

My boat is parked in a storage anyways, but I still use this lock so someone doesnt steal my trailer while im fishing

I use a DuraSafe with a DuraLock padlock. I wouldn't really worry about it but my insurance states that if boat and/or trailer is stolen and it is not on there they wont cover it.

Dang, that is what insurance is supposed to be about. What company states that?

Double good news here! Good news is they found your boat and the lock wasn't there, but you get your boat back anyways. Other good news is they didn't find your boat and cannot prove you didn't have the lock on it....since they can't see the boat to look at it. Lol.

I dunno. Just sayin.
