Always a perfect topic when everyone is anxiously awaiting the bite to turn on.

If I were to cast with my left hand, every set-up would be back-lashed beyond repair or on the bottom of the lake.

I can work a spinning reel just fine throwing right and reeling left.

Haven't tried that with a LH baitcaster reel and have no intention of changing.

Second trip out with the new LH baitcaster and pitching. Much better than the first go round...didn't switch to my right hand retrieve (old habits are hard to break) once...lol. I can tell I'm gonna like it.

I don't have time to read all 5+ pages, but doesn't it make sense that the person who invented the first baitcasting reel was right-handed, and probably never even considered any other option?

Why is it "wrong" exactly? This argument has literally been beat to death. It feels super un natural and not right for me to reel with my left hand same for casting with my left hand.(Im right handed obviously) And so what if you have to switch hands, I mean honestly how much time are we talking here to switch hands. A few 1,000ths of a second. Even in the rare time I have had a bass hit my lure as soon as it hits the water I have never had an issue setting the hook or landing the fish.

My point is just do what is most comfortable and feels most natural for you. There is no "right" or "wrong" in this situation.
