You could contact any of the custom rod guys on here and get one under 200 and it will be better than the name brands that come in that range.

I only throw buccoo for moving baits. Your right they arent very sensative.

I really like the Falcon Cara Composite Cranker (CLC-4-17) also Falcon Low Rider XG LFC-4-17 if you are looking to spend less.

I really like the CLC for square bills too.

I have been more than pleased with this rod for throwing jerkbaits.

Not sure why it even suggest throwing a c-rig because it has way to soft of tip. I use these for weightless senko baits 1/8-1/4oz t-rigs, chatter baits and traps

I have owned a bunch of rods.....and by far the best for up to 1/2 oz. traps was the Falcon Cara AOY. I need to find another one. I miss that rod

AllStar American Made BCM6.6.....still own it. If you get the right rod; which this one is a pefect match, you will have zero issues with fish coming unhooked. No mater how hard they thrash they can't seem to unload this rod so they can get slack. I also keep their head pulled down and as they approach the boat. I put the rod in the water all the way down to the reel and wear them down below the surface then I land them.

FTU IM10 blank, it's mostly graphite with a little fiberglass in it. Awesome Rod!!. The blank is about $97.00. It comes 6'9". I had a builder add a 3" extension at the butt end (out of an old broken blank). I have three of these and seriously considering having another built. Best sq bill/ lipless rod I've ever used. A builder will charge you about $100-125 depending on what guides/components you want.

Try a Powell Max composite or Powell Inferno. They make several models of graphite/glass composite rods that are great for lipless baits. I have one of the Powell trap/spook rods from TackleWarehouse and it is awesome. They have a soft tip to let a fish inhale the bait but the rest of the rod is all business.
