Do you happen to have the GPS coordinates on the stumps coming out of CB toward the bridge?

Don't run to the north east side of the bridge from cassell boykin and you will be ok. If you stay 100 yards off of the South west bank you should be fine. Then once you get to the bridge you can turn and run the length of the bridge.

Petty solid advice. Also when U come around island north of mud creek there is a giant tree 6inches-1ft out of water at angle like 70 yards off bank watch for it.

The others can chime in if they want, but here is the deal:
if you are not fishing a tournament and have to leave from a certain ramp, then trailer to a ramp near where you want to fish. Do not RUN this lake if you do not have to. From just a plain ol fisherman this is a very dangerous lake to run around on,,,, unless you have been on it forever or grew up on it and know it like the back of your hand. I fished it for 8 weekends straight in November and December and my butt still hurts from how hard I had it squeezed when I ran that lake. My Navionics map chip has more XXXs and trees marked on it than it does fish. I was very lucky and got some great help from some TFFrs on safe routes to take. My advice is if you are going to "run the lake",,,, get on U-tube and look up the Ken Smith series on Rayburn waypoints and watch them all, write down the GPS co-ordinates and put them in your machine. Also get the Lance Vick boat lane chip and install it. Finally like YHRF said, pay your insurance premium up and just let er rip.

I will say I have seen plenty of boats running through the Amber Forest and Black Forest since the water is up and if they did not hit anything they have been LUCKY. Also the stump field out in front of Veach Island boats just cutting through that.

Unless I have a trail that I have put together when the lake is low I keep to the safe areas.

Also there is stumps at this current lake level that are new / or have popped up that have not been visible in the past.

Man just go up there and fish. Don't try to go north from cassels or into any marked forest. Being new I would run around the point to the main lake. There's a big ledge there and the canyons are to the right. That's a big flat that holds good schools of decent fish. If you get bored there's always some kentuckys out there too. Use your graph on the edges of stuff and you will find a few fish.

Similar to our day, didn't hit anything but lower unit went out, wouldn't shift into gear. We were also on fish Friday but that all changed Saturday. Floated around for 3 1/2 hours before we got a tow, that took over an hour. Still waiting for the diagnosis on my motor, it's only 3 1/2 years old.

Its not that bad to run the southend is wide open from Five Fingers around to Powell is easy north of Five Fingers there is some areas you don't run unless you know it but still fairly easy above 147 well you need to know were you are running. The other side once you get up past Needmore and Powell especially off in the creeks you need to know were you are going as well. But there is plenty of easy water to run on Rayburn. You thought Rayburn is bad go on over to Toledo Bend.
