Ok guys I am gonna tell how my weekend started and went. I have been to Rayburn now for a few weeks in a row and I have spent some time out deep and while I knew I could catch a small limit shallow i wasn't sure I could cash a check or even have a chance to win it shallow so I had decided I was gonna stay deep all day and go for the win. My partner Chad couldn't be at practice Friday cause of work and so I prefished by myself and decided I was gonna graph all day Friday. So I took off Friday morning and headed north and I mean way north. I graphed and graphed all day and about 2:30 I found a bunch of baitfish in 28 to 30 ft of water so I decided I was gonna try a spoon. I fished it for about 30 min no luck. So I tied on a Mpack football head jig and after about 10 minutes no luck. So I hopped it off bottom and it felt like a sand bass hit it. I threw right back out and hopped it again Bam.... I set the hook and it was a 4 lber after many other throws and hopping the jig I shook off 3 or 4 more bites i decided I found me a starting spot. Chad showed up Friday night around 1000 pm and I gave him 2 Mpack jigs and said tie these on and let's put up all other rods up I think we can catch a small 20 lb bag limit. While I knew this wouldn't win it was better than beating the grass and hoping for a good limit. So Saturday morning we started there and about 9:30 we had a 7 lber 2 6 lber and a heavy 5 lber then we catch a small 1 lb Kentucky that was 15 inches long so we had around 25 lbs and some change. Then at 12:30 i stick another 5-6 lb fish and instead of letting Chad net the fish I tried to pull the fish into the net and it came off or we would have 32 lbs. later in the day we caught a 2.20 lb large mouth that culled the Kentucky and gave us almost 27 lbs but we had a dead fish so we ended up 26 lbs and some change. I would like to thank Mark Pack for not only being my friend but for sponsoring me and giving me the jigs to help me be successful. Thanks again for all the thank yous and support from my friends it was a great tournament for me and I am blessed to be able to have so many friends and sponsors. Thanks again....

Great job Skeeter

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.
