Nevermind, I see the Diawa is on the 'heavier' side of reel and I've just grown to used to lighter set ups. For my next frog rod I have it boiled down to the new Abu Rocket vs Shimano Ci4. Heavier? C'mon! My Daiwas weigh less than 5.5oz each. Lol. That's not considered heavy. Lol. One of my Ito modded Steez reels is a 7.9:1 reel and it weighs in at 5.2oz. And that's the one I use for braided line and XH rod. My XH 7'4" frog rod/reel combo, spooled with braid weighs in just a tiny bit over 10oz. I know some REELS THAT WEIGH MORE THAN MY ENTIRE COMBO. Now the weight savings comes at a premium price. And to some it's crazy. But to say a Daiwa is heavy is nuts. I think he meant the Tatula HD @8.1oz....the reel he was using to skip the jig with in the video.

Bought a Tatula cause I was curious and have used every other major brand.
I don't like it, feels cheap, cast ok... all in all I like it way way less than my old curado and lewd and significantly less than my revos... anybody wants to buy a type r bought last spring pm me... Im gona switch to a rocket
Spent all weekend skipping docks... and ended up switching to my lews. smoother and less finiky... the t wing system tends to lay line on the left side of the reel, and God forbid you want to put your finger on the line. It knocks it out of the groove and then everything gets a left hand lean

I think it is funny that in the first video he mentions the rod, reel, and line he uses but never mentions the brand of jig he was using, just said it had a flat bottom.

Of course the guys here will buy them and sell them for slightly more in the classified section. Lol.

It's kinda funny, those two videos basically contradict each other - one says tighten down the tension, one says loosen it up . I guess there's always more than one way to skin a cat... FWIW I skip pretty loose, but I run tension loose most of the time anyway, unless the winds howling.
