Where do you guys rank this boat? I will be in the market for a boat soon and it seems for the price the used Pro Crafts are much more affordable. I've fished out of just about every boat but this one.

Very good in rough water. But the hull isn't very tough.

If you fish for stripers in open water, might be fine. I wouldn't buy one for bass fishing up in the wooded creeks. JMHO

My dad had 1998 procraft 21ft and the rod boxes and storage boxes always smelled like gas fumes.

I have a 185 pro I bought new in 1997. she runs great and have had very little trouble with her. only wish now is that I should have bought a 210 pro for the ride. the 210 rides as nice as any other on the market. IMHO. but you will get the na sayers when it come to a procraft. oh by the way this is my 3rd pro. only down side is resale.

I rode in one it wasn't bad at all but the deck seemed really narrow compared to most others.

I fish out of a 2001 and one and love it. It is a solid boat. Treat her right and she will return the favor.

I bought a 94 18' new and ran it for 19 years. It actually had more storage space in it then some of the new boats you see now.

Did real good in rough water like ten footers at Champlain and large rivers with ships, crusiers and tugs.

In Texas in the wood it slid off the wood nice but after ten years of Lake Fork wood we had a gator hull installed by Lake Fork Fiberglass. When I sold it in 2013 I got my asking price because the fella, who fishes a wood filled lake as well, bought it because of their reputation and the gator hull.

The 150 Merc that was on it only gave me trouble one time. Had to replace the starter. That whole setup was great.

I fish out of a 2000 210 super pro and like it. Fished for 10 years out of a 20' Cobra and like this one just as much or better. Great boat for the prices they can be found at.

Aren't they basically a Nitro? I've always hear they were solid, not spectacular, but an all around solid boat.

the old Nitros had problems with the motor pulling the transom off the boat.

Procraft were made by the Brunswick corportaion and then eventually sold to BPS who probably felt that since they were near in price it would be better to discontinue the line.

They are good boats coach. Astros were good boats too and the same hull for some years. I would buy a procraft if the opportunity and situation fit without hesitation

18' bassboat in 10' waves? Right.

I had a 97 Procraft 205..bought at the boat show from Cory Whittle.
For the price, it was great.
Only thing was the ride..not as good as others...followed a Skeeter from 515 up to
Birch Creek in semi rough water..we were taking some strong bumps..the guy's in the Skeeter were riding
much smoother. cheers

Now, the Procraft with 225 Merc EFI and all the bells and whistles was $25,600
The Skeeter with same stuff was $32,000 something....just depends on what's important to you.

I had a very nice, clean ProCraft dual console bass boat....until the day it broke in half.

The ProCraft floatation foam had unknowingly chemically broke down and while fishing lake Amistad, begun taking on water, swelling and stress cracking the fiberglass. It was a giant heavy sponge. Then a small crossing of another boat's wake broke the stringers and the boat cracked port rubrail to starboard rub rail splitting directly under our feet while seated while on plane at about 35Mph. Total loss insurance claim. Adjuster shook his head and went back and my agent later stated State Farm raised coverage rates on every ProCraft boat owner. ProCraft did not acknowledge their fault with making the foam.

I wouldn't ride in a ProCraft, rather take my chances swimming.

Absolutely LOVE my 1996 Procraft V200DC. Never a problem. Sure I'd like a new Ranger with mega storage and all the bells and whistles, but my Procraft is great. Smooth ride, smooth Mercury 150, awesome!

I got it from my dad. Installed Powerpoles, the greatest electronics money can buy, and a Minn Kota Fortrex. ALL dialed in for about a fifth of the price of a 'new' rig.

I have a '98 205DC with a 225 Mariner. I've hit every stump in Lake Fork twice and so far it hasn't broke in half. Any manufacturers boat can have problems. Hell, I've seen a 50K Ranger with the motor hanging off the back by the cables after the little poke out transom thing sheered off. I'd buy another in a heart beat if I got the deal I got on mine. The resale might not be that great but that goes both ways.

I had two of them. 18.5' with 150hp and later the 20' with 200hp.

For the price it couldn't be beat. Solid hull....best and strongest...so I was told. Rode like a Buick...solid and stabile. Nothing too fast, but took anything you could dish at it.

It reminds me of Rangers without the $ tag.

I would still have that boat if I hadn't blown the motor.

I have a 1995 V200DC with a 200HP Mariner EFI. Great boat. Rides well in rough water. front end seems a little light as it will blow around in a good wind. (Too poor for power poles) I do with there was more storage but the livewells are good size and take the place of storage.

The hull is strong as can be for its age. Never an issue with it. Replaced carpet last year and the deck looked great as well. I do have to tinker with the other little things all the time like livewell pumps and trailer lights. Normal for an almost 20-year old boat. Still jumps up and runs 68-mph for me.

Where the big difference lies is with the hulls.
Look at a Procraft underneath..then look at a Ranger, Skeeter, Bass Cat, or most any other.
Procraft's don't have a rough water design. They have ski boat hulls.
I know, I owned a new Procraft 1997 205 DC.
