Hibdons I'm sure had lots of money back in the day. Gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em. Doesn't take long to blow your bank roll professionally fishing these days.

They don't really care about them winning or losing, but how much exposure they brought the company. Bingo. Winning alone isn't enough.

Is it just me, or does it seem that a sport where every professional participant has to be subsidized by sponsorships to even get in is not sustainable? Why in the world do they need these astronomical entry fees to hold a fishing tournament? Uh, Prize money! I'd like to see the budget for an elite series tournament, find out what percentage of the entry fee $$ goes to prize payouts. Figure it out. 111 anglers at $5000.00 ea Then look at the pay outs. Pretty easy to work out the numbers.
