I think the fish show up differently according to how each unit is set up. Most 2-D shots only show arches! There is actually a row of stumps there.
This past w-end I was spidering, the fish were on the bottom, when I seen a arch that looked like most of the ones in those posted shots I got a hit. Guess what? It was a crappie each & every time!
Thanks for y'alls observations but to say all or most of the fish that were in those scans were cats I'd have to say y'all are wrong, but opinions are like tailbones, everyone has one.....LOL

Been using Reefmaster software to build a detailed lake scan. I did a small lake near my house. The software is fantastic! Gonna do some bigger lakes once I have all my recordings made. There are two cars in this lake in the top left. See if you can see them.

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can rent you something so damn close you'll never be able to tell the difference.

Anyone have any idea what kind of fish these are? I saw them on the DI as I was trolling the rocks at Ray Hubbard a couple of weeks ago.
They were pretty big, and were not schooling. Also in shallow water... I figured they were big bass or something. What do you guys think?

Tim

Being that they are down 14' and if you turn them vertical you can judge them to be over 2 feet long so they have to be really big fish. I would say catfish or drum.

What are you using this may be one of the best screen shots I have seen. I am looking at upgrading my current unit to one of the newer models as for mine is about 8 years old now.

I'm using the Lowrance HDS 12 Gen 2. It's great, even though there are times I can see these big fish and CANT CATCH THEM LOL.
I think these fish were drum. I trolled over a few smaller ones in that area and caught two drum near that same spot.

OK so after looking through all 21 pages I want to first ask for some help on selecting a product.

I will most likely stick with Lowrance as for that is what I have been using. My current unit is not fancy but has served me well just for gps purposes never really was able to get things adjusted right. So after I have made a selection then I will be watching videos and asking you fine folks for help getting it setup.

I really want the structure scan and would like to have a larger screen then what I have now which is a 7. However I don't want to break the bank at the same time. Pretty sure when I go over $2k the wife is gonna kill me. So from what I can tell you must but the unit then buy the structure scan module as well. Is this correct? Are there other items that need to be purchased? Maybe if someone could maybe tell me the componets I would need to complete this setup it would be greatly appreciated. I tend not to always trust people at the stores as for they only want to make a sale.
