Well I've come to a conclusion that this south Texas weather is in need of a change. I've been thinking about big hawaiian ninefosh again and I see my wallet becoming empty in the near future. I couldn't help but think of Meades flies ( if yall don't knoe Rob Meade take a chance to look him up) so I started to ply out away to tie the gutless crab. Not bad for my first attempt I saw several mistakes I made during the tying process but it's in the works. I just need to cost with epoxy and she will be good to go! Hope yall enjoy, mahalo!

Vincent, heres a photo of a few of Rob Meades "Gutless Frogs, that he sent me a number of years ago. Great idea from an Aussie friend!
Rob is a great innovative fly tyer but i did not have the skills to duplicate his flies.
I need to get back in touch with him.

George

Vincent, are you using foam for the body of this crab pattern? If yes, how do you get it to sink to the bottom?

George, does that frog pattern use a plastic worm style hook to get the hook to stay at that angle?

Rex, Rob has a neat little trick that uses a piece of mono inserted horizontally to prevent the hook from changing angle.
Never knew about that until I reverse engineered one of his flies.
Hope I didn't tell Rob's secret... grin
