Well I've come to a conclusion that this south Texas weather is in need of a change. I've been thinking about big hawaiian ninefosh again and I see my wallet becoming empty in the near future. I couldn't help but think of Meades flies ( if yall don't knoe Rob Meade take a chance to look him up) so I started to ply out away to tie the gutless crab. Not bad for my first attempt I saw several mistakes I made during the tying process but it's in the works. I just need to cost with epoxy and she will be good to go! Hope yall enjoy, mahalo!

-Vincent Vincent, heres a photo of a few of Rob Meades "Gutless Frogs, that he sent me a number of years ago. Great idea from an Aussie friend! Rob is a great innovative fly tyer but i did not have the skills to duplicate his flies. I need to get back in touch with him. George Rob's Gutless bugs: My bugs"

Vincent, are you using foam for the body of this crab pattern? If yes, how do you get it to sink to the bottom?
George, does that frog pattern use a plastic worm style hook to get the hook to stay at that angle?

Rex, Rob has a neat little trick that uses a piece of mono inserted horizontally to prevent the hook from changing angle. Never knew about that until I reverse engineered one of his flies. Hope I didn't tell Rob's secret...

-Vincent Vincent, you may already have some of Rob's crab flies, but here's a couple more gutless bugs he sent me.. I'm not about to fish them - they are too pretty..

Rob is a great guy... and one of the most innovative fly tyers to come along in a while.
