My sister and I caught limits this past Thursday. We used spinning tackle with 8 pound line. I tied
two #6 Owner Mosquito hooks on the line above an 1/8 ounce drop shot sinker. Whole kernel corn was
the top bait of the day. We also caught some on pieces of marshmallow. We ended up using marshmallow
on the top hook and corn on the bottom. The marshmallow would float the line a bit, which I think was
good, and we caught fish on both baits.

I have to go +1 on Denny's comment above. No doubt these fish have been conditioned to the vibration
and sound of food dropping on the surface of the water their entire hatchery lives.

I tired Smithavens rigging suggestions from his blog in an earlier post. I really like it but I didn't have any luck today. I fished Kidd Springs Park in Oak Cliff in Dallas. What a great little neighborhood. I guess it is the Kessler Park area.

Fished with my two daughters while my wife walked around the park identifying the various ducks. We fished corn, marshmallows and the becket trout power bait. Nada.

I found a school of about 30-40 trout swimming in less than two feet of water. I could even see one with what looked like a salmon egg type bait hanging from its mouth. At one point they were swarming around my marshmallow and corn offering. Multiple fish nosed it and turned away. We only fished for two hours at the most but that refusal sent us on to lunch at the food trucks at Klyde Warren Park. Great day to be outside at least.

Anyone got any other tips?

You put your bait on the fish. They saw it. That's more than half the battle.

All that's left is to offer them something different. Maybe the dinner bell will eventually ring.

More than likely they would have taken your offerings at a different time of day.

overcast yesterday afternoon.I used a gold super duper.Caught 8 in 1 hour and missed at least 20 strikes. I was at the Fresh Water fishery in Athens and there you have to cut off 2 of the hooks and flatten the barb on the only hook left. Guys fly fishing did better. Fly guys also caught quite a few bream. All fish were caught and released. You can fish with daily pass of $5 or yearly pass for $12.50 if you want to catch and release. If you want to keep fish it is $5 if it is 1 or 5. Great park like setting.

This. you can even buy small red colored marshmellows w/garlic scent. Killer on stocked trout. We just use a number 10 salmon egg hook.

I never fail to limit out on the following.

number 16 or 18 treble hook tied approx. 12-18 inches below small split shot. pea size ball of floating garlic power bait (make sure it floats the hook); fish just like for catfish on the bottom, leave slack in the line. watch line, sometimes it will tighten and other times will become more slack. let them take the bait.....small hook set, don't try and rip their lips off. I also have luck with floating salmon power bait but garlic is the go to. Time of day hasn't mattered for me.

They just stocked Cedar Hill State Park perch pond.
The walkway probably would hold 20 people to fish without tangling each other up.
Must have been 40 people there.
I will not fish elbow to elbow

I'd use a #32 Klyvers Botfly on a floating taper.
