It seems like in years past, when there's been enough water for the White Bass to make it up the creek, the fishing has really picked up around Super Bowl weekend. I've caught them sooner than that, but it's always been spotty when I have. Kind of a boon or bust type of deal.
Hopefully the weather holds for the 17th trip. The warmer temps should only help the fishing.

TFTVR = Thanks for the video report. I know how you feel on this one. People are always posting TFTR on my bass fishing report posts and I had to think about it myself. TFTR = thanks for the report. I assume that is what TFTR stands for. I could be wrong, but that's all I could come up with.
I think Jeremy knew what this stood for. He is on that forum where they use these letters TFTR a lot.

Your welcome Fishtx!! GoPro quality is pretty poor, but you get the idea! I will attempt to get something before the 17th for you guys, but I probably won't make that trip. The daughter in law may be flying in that day to stay with us while my son is away on deployment!!

I'm in the market for a GoPro myself. Can't wait to get some under water shots. Wife bought a really nice Canon with some nice lenses, but she doesn't want me to take it fishing. How ever, I fried our last Canon by introducing it to the water, so that may have something to do with her thoughts. LOL

Received over a inch of rain up here in Milam county. Some spots more. The east Yegua is raising fast. Be careful if ya'll go out today. Stage at Dimebox for east Yegua is at 8.54 ft. Yesterday it was 1.94 ft

Good information Yegua Cat. I see some of the rainwater from the last couple of days is already reaching the lake. Lake level is up to 238.45. 0.45 ft about normal and rising. Corp is still releasing 94 cfs, but with the additional water on its way I would suspect they will start releasing more soon. In that case the fishing below the dam may turn on in the next couple of weeks.

Let it rip and roar, that's what this creek needs. Those numbers you posted, does that mean the creek is 8.54 feet above normal flow? If so, then that is a good rise.

I'll be watching the weather closely but this doesn't look promising for the short term we are setting up for a wash-out come Saturday the 17th.. any more rain on fully saturated ground will flood the Yegua and soak the road to Newmans which they will close to preserve.

No more rain is expected until Sunday, when there is a 50% chance of rain.

Yea, normal flow has been around 1.9 ft. The 8.54 is consider flood stage in some spots. Just looked at the corp of engineers staging site and the E. Yegua is at 9.68 and the middle Yegua is at 8.48. M.Yegua normal flow has been around 1.54 ft. They are rising a foot a hour right now by the site. The rain water we got last night most likely will get to these spots tonight. Setting up for a good spring run. Might just be in for a wet spring this year.

We kayakers were planning on meeting up around 8am down at Newmans but the Yegua is climbing fast and is probably going to flood with all the rain we have received lately. The creek was already running good before this last rain came down. We might just shift gears and have a meet-up at the open air pavilion at Nails Creek park and decide what to do from there.
It is very likely that if the Yegua floods they will close the gate leading to Newmans which leaves us out. All this rain is good for the long term but it does shut down our activities up the creek. I know of several other creeks on the lake that we could safely kayak if we can't do so up the Yegua..

Lake level is right at 239 feet. 1 foot above normal. They raised the release rate from the dam slightly, to 189 cfs.
