Hiya Neumie. Glad to see you ran across those pics. I believe Chad is helming the gen/proto 3 in those shots. Def a big change in the deck layout leading into the FlexPod OS.

That first version has what looks like a micro pole mount set right in front of it. I have yet to see any pics or information about the powered FlexPod OS module, but it's safe to assume that is coming soon.

This thread and the one on NYBass are the only two active ones I've run across so maybe marketing and the pro staff will see them and get some of our feedback as well.
Please let me know if you know of other forums talking about this boat.

I'm hoping that there is an option to retrofit the flexpod for existing users of torqeedo 403s so they can have a drop in solution. I assume they'll have steering done via foot pegs, but would like an option to steer by hand lever like hobie does as well.

I'm also hoping that Wilderness takes a note from Johnson's Predator XL and allows you to quickly and easily access the prop for clearing debris from it or just getting it out of harms way in rocky zones. My assumption is that's what the micropole mount was testing, but in the new pics it's been replaced by a flat plate. Although it does look like it can be removed so maybe there will be an option.

You're right about the bulk head. I have seen a picture of the orange boat that had the rod pod hatch moved to the far back behind the milk crate. Unfortunately I couldn't find it again to see if it's still there, but that is where you'll be able to store rods.

I get why the front hatch is scuppered in the Thresher, but not clear on why you'd want it that way in the ATAK. Personally I'd rather have it open to the rest of the boat so I'm looking forward to hearing Wildy/pro staff explain that.

Looking forward to seeing it on the water.

I noticed the slight change in the deck as well between the orange kayak and midnight one that Chad appears to be using. The one thing that still confuses me a bit is that the presser from Wildy clearly shows a more pointed bow with a traditional front handle, unlike the bar handle on the two other kayaks.

I thought that that was a fishfinder mount, but I think you're right. That doesn't make any sense to me why you'd want the power pole mount located in front of you.

Only other thread I'm aware of is on Texas Kayak Fisherman. Not as active as this though.

None of the pics I've seen indicate hand steering. My guess is they'll utilize the rudder controls similar to the OK Torque.

Well, removing the current FlexPod OS from the Thresher is a snap and I believe, if my memory serves me correctly, the new Torqeedo FlexPod OS should plug in the same.

So there is a large rear hatch in the tankwell of the kayak. I haven't heard anything about if the front hatch will be scuppered like the Thresher or not, as you mentioned. I agree that I would like to see it open as well.

Nothing is 100% set. I talked with our Wildy inside rep today. He understands that they are still working with prototypes and have not yet even produced "sample" boats.

Hopefully they will finalize soon.

Yak technology is advancing so quickly. I'm gonna have to wait to buy a new yak. It's tough to buy one, when I know there will be a new model, next year, that has even more stuff I want, and need.

Regarding equipment (and also appropriate to kayaks) we used to have a saying in the printing business that said "Everything is either experimental or obsolete".
