Anyone been? Going in the morning with my son before he goes back to college. Just curious how it is fishing since all the fish kills in the past. Used to be a pretty fun lake.

Was on the lake for the first time a few weekends ago. Caught decent numbers. Nothing huge. A lot of 12-14 inch fish with a few around the 3 lb mark. Threw different stuff all day long just for fun. Caught fish on chatter baits, square bills, T-rig, drop shot, flukes. Mostly shallow. Didn't find anything in deeper water that seemed worth fishing that day.

Haven't been since late February. Had good water temps and the fish were healthy and between 3 & 4-1/2 lbs. Park ranger said the fish kills were from oxygen levels in the summer, not toxins as I have heard rumored from time to time. Please post an update, I'm thinking of going in the next few weeks. Thx.

Was on the lake for the first time a few weekends ago. How were the ramps and water temps? I assume this powerplant is running consistantly?

Just three small fish today. Lost one about 4 at the boat. All pitching brush hogs into the reeds. Water was 55 when we arrived and 59 when we left at 2. Not a great day, but a good day with my son before he goes back to school on Friday. Anyone else fish today?

We've been having great luck recently throwing traps aroun the grass that we've found. Slow on plastics and nothing to mention out deeper. Chatter baits have been getting us a few quality fish as we'll. The only areas we do not run is south of the first boat ramp due to some big submerged stumps.

Are there still Tillapia and Red fish in the lake? We used to kill the bass on Rainbow Trout colored RatlTraps because they resembled the tillapia. Every once in a while one of those big old reds would hit them also and you would really have a fight on your hands.

The Park Manager when I called said that the bass were flourishing due to recent fish kills. The kills have focused on mostly red fish, gar, and catfish. Due to the reds dying, the bass apparently are doing really well.

Really? I called the state park and they said it was running full blast and that they havent heard different for 2 months... All I know is that they were not running when I went. I work for TXU for 15 years so I do know a little bit about it.
