http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/game-win...ots&Ntk=All I'd toss on a pair of wool socks and these boots from Academy. Should be on sale right now. Lightly insulated and very roomy so your feet aren't bound up and if it's really cold, enough room to toss in a foot warmer. Waterproof as well.

Also, think a gel sole insert and some 'Thorlo' wool socks would be a great addition to the boots. Thorlo Socks Scott in Flower Mound

I have used them or something similar in the past. They work great. But after a while it occurred to me that especially if fishing alone, they would be like wearing anchors if I ever fell overboard. So now when fishing alone In cold or wet weather I wear Thinsulate lined ankle style Waterproof Redhead boots with ski socks. I have heard Merrill also makes a great, comfortable similar Goretex boot.

Spray your feet with antiperspirant to prevent sweating first. Then a good wool sock, I like the smart wool brand. Finish with a good insulated gore tex boot.

What type of socks are you wearing with these? Do the shoes alone keep your feet warm?

I wear a pair of Woody Sport Muck boots from late fall all the way to early spring. If its really cold I put on a pair of quality wool socks.

from hunting experience the key for warmth is not too many socks or tight fitting. you need room to move and circulation. I've found the best is a thin layer sock to wisk away sweat and then a thick sock. chemical warmer on the toes for when really bad.
