I have a HDS 7 and 5 gen 1. The 7 is less than 3 years old but out of warranty. Is there any kind of trade up program that I can still qualify for?

Chris, I'm surprised someone hasn't responded to your question but, suspect nobody knows the answer. Best thing to do us just call Lowrance. I did hear they have some promotions going now on some Gen 2 units and also heard the only Gen 3's they are shipping are the 7" Touch. The rest aren't due till late March. And, I heard there is going to be another promotion/discount offered on Gen 2 units starting around Feb 6th. So, I'd hold off and see if that happens.

Hey all, I have recently begun having a problem with my HDS5 gen2. It is getting its sonar reading from the US2 in my Ipilot and works fine on startup. When I go to move to another spot and put the trolling motor back down the sonar won't read anything unless I turn unit off and back on. Any thoughts?
Thanks for any and all input!

They do have a trade up program but most likely you will receive remanufactured unit in a new box/packing on upgrade....

New question for you gurus! I have a 9 Touch on the console and one on the bow. They are connected to each other by both Ethernet and NMEA 2000 buses. The problem is when I'm on the console and using the transom mounted skimmer transducer and then move to the bow, the bow unit always has the transom transducer selected. When I change it back to the bow unit, then go back to the console, the bow transducer is selected on the console unit. I'm thinking I've got something set up wrong but, can't figure it out. HELP!!!

I was having the same issue and got tired of messing with. Disabled the "network Sonar" option and it works well now. With it set this way I cant choose to look at the other units transducer but I never choose to do that anyway.

Hey Guys,
I recently had to change computers and lost the program of Sonar Log Viewer which plays back the sonar readings in SL2 format. I have not been able to find a new copy to download. Any suggestions where to find this program?

Lowrance no longer supports sonar viewer but there was a post on BBC that something new was coming out soon. They wouldn't say and were very tight lipped about it. I think someone there posted a copy of it, I'll look later and see if I can find it.

Brian Sorry I wasn't able to respond sooner. I don't know but, will check 'scope' setting is local and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for the response!

Okie, make sure your network is turned off too. If I turn off 'network' will the two units still share waypoints?

Okie, make sure your network is turned off too. If I turn off 'network' will the two units still share waypoints? Yes the units will still share waypoints. All you need to do is turn off the network sonar option. After disabling it you just wont be able to select the remote units transducer as your source. Each unit will always use its own transducer as its source.
