I think the golden algae hit the smallmouth pretty hard on Whitney. I haven't seen or heard of anyone having much luck with them. Not sure if they even restocked them since the GA bloom several years ago.

Texoma is closer than Belton for me and I never got on them real good at Belton

There are a few but it's a stocked population
Water conditions don't let many spawn correctly
Since they haven't stocked it in a while populations are way down

Belton has a great Smallie bite all year for me. Hope you have luck on texoma.

I would like to know how any bass fishing has been on Whitney. Went out 2 weeks ago in Cedar Creek area and didn't get a bite.

You wont catch any smallmouth in whitney there are only about two caught a year. Fishing has been slow out there

Sure nobody cares but I work on a tug boat on the Great Lakes and when the small mouth bite is on up here, I don't think there's anything more fun to catch!

Lake Murray in Ok. is alot of fun for Smallmouth and not much further than Texoma. Good luck.
