Only 2 or 3 of the fish I caught were yellow bellies.

No crappie.
Sandies.
Maybe 15-20% keepers.

they were sandies. I ended up with 90 on Sunday as well, and maybe 5 of them in the 11-12 inch range. the rest were 8-9.999999 inches long.

No yellows at all. All sandies.

BFail, you wishing Alan Henry was closer yet? I know I do. The fishing in Austin sucks!

Actually some of the finest bass fishing anywhere is right here in the heart of the city if you know where to look or get brave and do some scouting! 12 lb bass 5 minutes from downtown Dallas is not too shabby, and on a public lake yet!

No i was not fishing anywhere near the bend, deeper, much deeper into the woods!

Oh yeah, i used to live in austin, and the fishing in and around the austin area is FAB- U- LOUS!!!

Again you gotta get off the duff and do some scouting! Talk to the locals, I love fishing in austin!!!!!!!!!!!

But, to really get into it, YOU GOTTA GO FIND YOUR OWN!!

Dallas has good bass, but the size is nothing compared to that off LAH in Lubbock. Alan Henry puts out 8-12 bass a year in the 13+ range. Ive never caught one but they are huuuge. Only lake that comes close is Fork or Amstad. I go to a local lakearound town and get bass everytime. They are all small though. I never have enough time to go scouting becasue Im always working, plus I dont have a boat so Im somewhat limited

Bfail, I'd like to go fishing with you at White Rock sometime over the break before I have surgery on my ACL (21st) and maybe patch up a few things. Let me know if your interested.
