I would have let it swim around and let something even bigger eat her.

Ya'll debate her age all you want. She's a gorgeous fish with the conformation of a pure Florida. Small mouth, short/stout body relative to length. 10 years old ain't old for a largemouth. Congrats to the angler and his guide. Lots had to go right to land that fish of a lifetime!

I say that cause the growth rate here is probably less than 1lb a year. And once a bass gets over 5 lbs it's gets less. It would've been better to weigh her snap some pics and release her to get bigger. But that's why Texas can't grow a bass over 20lbs cause they keep getting taken from the lake they were caught at.

Congrats. Ignore the naysayers. They will try to suck the fun out of anything if you let them. Some must be a real joy to be around.

Really nice fish and thanks for sharing the pictures. Great to see and great to see Fork has some good fish left despite the other naysayers.... woot

Cause you obviously know the growth rate of that exact fish. We all know fish are created equal and grow equally....makes complete sense
