I fish both at the same time. You cannot use a circle hook for the dropshot, though, as they take different hook sets. Just FYI. If the fish are active, you double up often. Normally, the drop shot gets fewer, but bigger bites for me. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Use an Owner riging hook for your drop shot, either a #1 for a finesse worm and a 1/0 for a trick worm.

Personally I like the shaky head better, I I just roll it across the bottom at different speeds. Have to watch line close it will swim off sometime before you feel it. Drop shot a total different feel feel your line get light and I miss a lot of fish. +1; shakey head will catch fish for me every time out.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I throw a shaky head a lot more than a drop shot especially in Texas waters. I find that I do best on a drop shot when you have some depth to drop down on them and the shaky head can be thrown anywhere anytime and catch fish. I also like to pour shaky heads and prefer the baits I can rig on them. Plus, I like setting the hook more than the sweep set with a drop shot so I tend to favor the shaky head.
