I've always used a short landing net and Lindy Glove. Three prongs scare me and the close calls usually happen once the fish is in the kayak. With the Lindy Glove I can grab a fish by the mouth regardless where the crank bait is positioned by just grabbing the whole crankbait and mouth if I have to. Its much easier for me to get my mits on a fish than using any of the fish grabbers. Make sure you get the correct hand as they are sold separately Left or Right.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

The last year I chartered I was hooked 11 times. That was a record by 2x over the previous worst year. My reaction time must have increased. In 40 years I only went to the Doctor once to have a hook removed. I hurt myself a lot of times removing hooks but I didn't spend much on Doctor visits.

BTW, keep your Tetanus vaccination current. Clean the wound asap and don't spare the Triple Antibiotic for a day or two..

I'm on my 3rd Mini-X. I sold the first 2 when I wanted to try something else. Now I am back in a Mini, one that had 4 fist size holes plus it was missing about 8" of the keel. Great for a project and now a great little fishing machine.

Hey richg, I did not get your pm. What can I help you with?

Mini-rudder.

Mini seat and cow horn rod holders.
Mini keel repair.
