I'm doing a tournement right now and all of the sudden I saw water coming through the carpet at a pretty good flow but then it stopped. I've been fishing for an hour so far and it started out of no where. It finally stopped coming through the carpet but it keeps slowly rising in the battery compartment. Ive been using the live well on and off for 45 minutes and it's been fine. The boats a 1986 charger 17"3. Should i trailer it and look for cracks or holes? This is the very first time it's done this and I have not without a doubt hit anything in the lake or while trailering. What should I do? Keep bilging and fishin? I got one keeper in the boat so far.

He has a post in the boat and motors section about why his boat is slow. It might be because he has a thru hull fitting leaking or a leak of some kind. I'm with Okie Poke get off the water and fix your leak.

Put the plug in.

Or the aerator pumps/hoses. Happened to me, when i turned on the pump to fill a live well the plastic spray head fitting cracked on the outside of the well and started filling the boat.

Throw that bilge on and head close to ramp and fish that's what I would do. I'm not about to risk sinking a boat for a tournament

Just circulate the water in the live well, don't keep bringing in new water. Like Skeet said, fish close to the ramp that you launched from.

That would depend on where in the line the break is, before or after the valve.

If you are taking on that much water and don't know where it is coming from, why are you taking time to post a question on here instead of heading back to a ramp. I don't think you have your priorities in order.
