Doesn't apply if you have a CHL. Same with state parks.

I don't think you can carry concealed on corp of engineer lakes..its FEDERAL property. Don't quote me on that, but that is what I have heard from many people who have asked them.
Some tournies don't let you carry either..the commies...

From packing.org...which I did not know: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is part of the U.S. Army. Do be aware that the Corps builds and operates many Dams in the United States. Many of these Dams can have State Parks right up next to them to take advantage of the Recreational potential of the lakes the Corps Dams make. Your Concealed Carry permit is not valid on any Corps Property. It is up to you to know where State Lands and Waters start and stop and Corps Land and Waters stops and starts.

You'd be hard pressed to find me without my weapon. I haven't ever been stopped on the water as of yet (knock on wood) but I've been stopped by police and troppers. Had a green trooper get real wide eye'd when I showed him my license and told him it was on my hip..

Now y'all have me wondering about the Corps lakes. All three of the lakes that I normally fish are Corps of Engineer (Lewisville, Grapevine, Ray Roberts).
I never really carried much while fishing in the past (at least not while fishing from a boat), but after a recent strange occurrence at the boat ramp I've reconsidered that.

Carrying is not something you do for convenience or a "feeling" of safety. It's there to save your life or the life of a loved one. If you don't intend to use it, don't carry it. If you are worried about being stopped, don't carry it. Personally, I am much more concerned with preserving my life than I am with getting stopped by a LCRA offical or getting a ticket or fine or jail time for that matter. That doesn't mean don't obey laws, but if your sole reason you want to carry is because it's legal to do so, you probably shouldn't carry.
Too many times I have heard people comment about when they would or would not use deadly force. Some have commented that certian laws and reprocussions would prevent them from using deadly force. I'm sorry, but my life isn't going to be taken because some law or reprocussion prevented me from defending it, and if I wasn't actually defending it, I didn't need to use deadly force in the first place. I strongly recommend that anyone who carrys a concealed handgun consider the circumstances that merit use of it, not just make it legal, but necessary.

If you were talking to me, then I appreciate your thoughts, but they weren't necessary...or at least not for my sake. I agree 100% with what you said.

I have never been asked for my lisence by a game warden but I would certainly give him my ccl with my dl if asked.Actually i have the two taped together down one edge and keep my insurance card in between so that i can't forget to give both if requested.I have been stopped twice in my truck and I have had no problem with the officers.Respect goes a long way in preventing problems.
