The guide you were with already knew where his fishing spots are per a waypoint he marked when locating the structure. He used the structurescan at that time to find his fishing spots. .

Still working on dialing in my hds 7 gen 2 touch. Yeah it's just a picture with my phone. I don't know how to screen shot nor have a card. Lol Trying to figure out these fish. Targeting bass but everything I find that looks good I can't seem to catch one to make a conclusion. This is about the best color and arch I've been able to get. Thoughts? Thanks

When it comes to identifying fish on a graph I am not the best, however it does seem like I was able to graph some schooling fish. Can anyone confirm this with me, and if so, do the sizes of the schools indicate that these are big fish or small fish??? I was targeting bass so can we infer I was on the right track? On the picture where it looks like there is a school of fish chasing another school, I was able to catch bass that day. I also made an observation that bass were eating shad and striking them up at the surface so I feel that specific picture does appear to be a school of bass after baitfish. But again, I am not the best at this and was looking for other opinions Thanks

Nutman, if it's the down image unit then you can put it on the jackplate but you won't get high speed sonar readings. So if you want to be able to see the depth on the sonar while on plane then you will need it on the transom. I personally prefer to use a "shoot thru the hull" transducer but I don't think you have that option.
