It does look like a pvc condo. Also the bottom pillar appears to be brushed out - that should hold crappie.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Just started using this 1198. While we were crappie fishing located these bass that were schooling. Later on in the day we came on a 2nd group of bass schooling. The crappie bite was tough after the cooler weather & 1/2" of rain, but the bass were fun to catch!

I usually fish under bridges at Hubbard, or trees at Purtis Creek. Last weekend I ventured out into deeper water in Cedar Creek Lake. These images are from open water at Cedar Creek. It was the first time I have taken the fish finder out into open water in search for crappie, sandbass, hybrids. I found a few schools of fish, like this, but they were constantly on the move and it was hard to keep track of them. I don't have any experience chasing schools of sand bass/crappie, but I figured it was sand bass from what people tell me about the way they school like that... When I got on top of the school, it was GAR! Big GAR started surfacing and feeding when I drifted through the school. Anyway I've heard that catching sand bass is easy, and to cast slabs/spoons into the schools... but I caught one crappie on a chrome bomber slab, and a catfish on a road-runner. Not exactly what I was hoping. I also found what looked like lots of large catfish on the bottom of the lake near the dam, but I was trying to chase the large schools of fish. Does anyone have any advice for this method of fishing schools in open water? I also fished under the 198 bridge near Log Cabin, but only caught 1 crappie on a minnow. Thanks for the help! Tim
