been catching em in the galveston ship channel at A&M galveston

Some friends went to Sea Rim this past weekend and caught plenty of reds and sharks.

What species of shark are in that area?

I got a pic I can text if anybody wants to identify.

I've been catching pretty consistently in the High Islands area. Hell, I don't even have to step into the water! I just watch them coming towards me and cast in front of them! Its a great fight every time! I go early in the mornings though. I drop hook about 7am and the feeding frenzy slows around 9:30'ish. I'm on my way home or to lunch at 11am. I won't even make the trip if the wind is blowing over 8mph... I like fishing when there is almost no surf and the tide is about to turn. The best conditions to me is, if I clear my throat, it'll spook anything in a 20 yard radius... lol! In these conditions I have found wading & kayaking to be the most rewarding.

Also, fresh dead mullet has worked the best for me with reds. Cut them into 3" sections and hang em' on a #10 circle hook. I would also suggest wire over mono, because the sharks like them as well!
