My old green bass hunter is getting long in the tooth.
I have a brand new Bass Hunter EX coming!
Its slightly heavier than my old model, but is made from a much harder ABS plastic and has some nice features like built in storage.
One concern, my current model has plenty of room on the gunnels to lay your rods, keeping them off the cockpit floor and fairly safe.
The EX has so much 'storage" and molded in stuff on the gunnels does not look like you can store your rods there. Looking for a way to secure them and keep them out of the way. Maybe some vertical PVC holders on the interior of the port stern? IDK
Any ideas

Dan,
How did you decide on the Bass Hunter over the other brands on the market?

Hey Steve- In a nutshell I've fished out of about every common make/model out there. The Bass Hunters are lower profile, lighter, the material is much stronger than others and IMO they are simply a better quality. There is nothing about them that feels cheap. Now you will pay a little more up front but if compare a Hunter to say a pelican (not dogging pelicans, they are fine) but side by side the difference is clear. The Hunters track better and the hull design makes them faster and more stable then other models. Add in 100% made in the USA and I don't see much competion. A better rod holder solution in the EX would be nice, but no deal breaker at all. My current boat is 25 years old and still very serviceable.

"Hunter to say as a pelican (not dogging pelicans, they are fine) but side by side the difference is clear." Its true I have a pelican and its nice but not a bass hunter the bass hunter is low in the water and more stable.

It's here!!! Love the hull design! It's not the two flat pontoons like my older hunter. Looks much more hydrodynamic and should be faster and more stable! Pic below, that pattern carries all the way down the bottom. Pretty cool! It's at least the stated 30lbs heavier than my old one but I'm still kinda strong so no huge deal haha Can't wait to get this bad boy out for her maiden voyage

Awesome! I'm thinking rod straps and a rudder with the TM up front.
