I wish I could do this but from 5 to 7:30 its helping kids with homework and getting them ready for bath and bed. I doubt my wife is gonna let me go fishing and get out of helping with kids. If it was weekends I could most likely get out for 2 of the events.

Are there bass in the ponds at celebration park? Sorry for being off topic but I have never caught one there. I will say I never seriously tried though either.

I think there is some bass but it's mainly filled with catfish.

I worked out a way to get out of work a little earlier for the next five Mondays and picked up the packet tonight. I'm guessing that it's not just a bass tournament, but all fish? Also, are people returning the sign up page and paying the entry fee back at the Joe Farmer Rec Center, or are we supposed to wait until the day of the first tournament?

I have no illusions of winning or even placing in the top 3, because I know there are much more experienced and more talented anglers out there than I am. I just think this is a really cool idea and if by joining I can help get the numbers up so Allen continues to do this, then I am all in. Plus, it gives me an excuse to get out and fish!

You can pick up the packet and return it to Joe Farmer Rec Center. You can also pay there as well. They are open into the evening usually until 8-9pm.

The $25 entry fee covers all 5 weeks.

The tournament is not specific to one species. You can catch any fish to be weighed in. I asked about celebration park, and they told me that I should fish for catfish... This is going to get interesting.

I double checked... Any fish species can be weighed in. It is not specific to any one species. Bass, Catfish, Perch & the Lochness Monster is all fair game.

That's good to hear. I have a lochness monster set up I've been dying to try out. In all seriousness if we are fishing for any species can we use live bait, or something other than artificial?

Just picked up my packet. Looks like I will miss Week 1 b/c of prior engagements. Bank on the next 4!! Has anyone ever caught a fish at Celebration Park (Week 2's event)? I am 0-14 years! Thank you to all who made this happen, I'm pumped!

Any form of legal bait is allowed. No Nets or jug lines.

Both ponds at celebration park have catfish. The bass population is very small. It's up to you to figure out what they want to eat.

I think I might ask the wife to let do a few events on the days I don't have to work. Would be cool if someone could post the packet up for peeps that are interested but too lazy (like me) to go pick one up. Is it one rod and reel only or can you have 2? Can you chum? Catfish might win some of these events. I seem to have some luck with whisker fish. Lol might win with bullheads at celebration.....
