Agreed. It's hot right now, but it hasn't been any worse than before. My cows are still enjoying a few blades of green grass right now.

I usually take a break an only fish once a week or so in August and September.

It's a good time to do the pre fall maintenance on the boat and get all the tackle in shape.

I'll be playing in a golf tournament today through Sunday, and then headed to lop all day Monday.

Your age... I know a 71 yr old who started at 630 last Wednesday morning and played 126 holes of golf in one day.

Just to see how many holes he could play in a day.

As we say in Texas, rolfmao "Bless His Heart"!! Man, I thought I was, and was pretty 'tough' all my life but life has a way of catching up to you sooner or later.
He's one 'helluva man' at age 71 to play golf in this heat for 126 holes, I'll sure give him that!!!

Actually, it hasn't been that bad in East Texas this year.

Of course, this is August so you've got to expect some heat. I usually fish daylight-11:00 AM though. I fish virtually every weekday.

To be honest I have come to love this time of year. Put on lots of sun screen and drink tons of water. Have a partner in the boat. When it gets hot take turns taking a quick swim. That goes a long way. I have been fishing from daylight until noon to 1 maybe later if they are still biting. I fish almost exclusively for the schooling fish right now, so the more constant and hot the weather, the better. Although I would honestly take a slightly slower bite as a trade for the nicer weather we have been having. Nothing beats catching them like crazy on topwater on a bright sunny day in August. Except the same pattern in October haha.
