This is nothing Lee, were you here in 1980, if not imagine this From Aug. 6 2010
Dallas Morning News:
It was 30 years ago this week that a 42-day string of 100 degree days - the longest heat wave by far in the region's history - was broken. For one day. More triple digits followed, and when autumn mercifully arrived, temperatures had hit the century mark 69 times.
42 days at/above 100 degrees 5 days at/above 110 degrees and on June 26-27 113 degrees ea day
And I was working for a beer company delivering beer, they gave us a little ice chest and a couple of rags to try to stay cool

Wasn't too bad today with the breeze. The fish didn't cooperate. 3 little ones and a 4lber. I haven't been able to catch jack since the 3.5 inches of rain we got last weekend.

I'll take your word for that being a long time fisherman and guide. Dang heat is sure hard on old bodies....seems it wasn't long ago, didn't mind it so much and loved the hot weather. Now, not so much And, we don't really have any 'deep' water over here on the west side of Ft Worth...

Good grief, another scoorcher! Well, at least no 'string of 100 degree days' in August (which is really good). Still hard to tell yourself it's good fishing weather out in this heat...and little/no rain Boy, do we need rain over here Ft Worth and west......

I got a late start getting to Pope's Landing at Fork and launched the boat around 2:00PM. Well, I didn't go there to stay in a Motel room so I went fishing. As hot as it was, the fishing was pretty good with six of them out of a twenty feet area. Then I started to feel sick. I've had that happen before, so I doused myself in cold water and headed to the room. Got to feeling better later on and went back out. I've heard that if you can stand the heat, the fishing has been pretty good mid day. I'll let you younger guys do it, it was too hot for me. Went out next morning and got skunked! Heard it was 102 degrees Saturday afternoon

Man, glad you made the decision to quit when you did! Heat exhaustion or heat stroke is no joking matter. Sounds like you did good for a while though... Nice going shipmate!

No fishing right now. I walked out to our pond yesterday to play around with one of my spinning rods before I put it away. First cast, a small crappie hit and missed. Two or three casts later, I caught a good bass. Two or three casts later, I hung up in the cat tails and broke off my roadrunner. I walked back to the shop to lock up my boat and I was soaking wet! Total time- about six minutes! I'll see you guys in September.

Wasn't too bad on Lew again today, the breeze was nice. And the fish are finally getting back on the deep bite. We caught 12 in 3 hours but nothing over 4 again. . .typical of Lewisville tho.

Hey, have any of the NTex Lakes stratified? Are we going to avoid a Fall Turnover because of the extended winter and slightly below average summer?
