So my lovely and awesome wife who has been more than supportive of my fishing hobby/addiction said something last night that blew my mind. She wants to get me a nice fishing rod for Christmas. I have no idea what to ask for. She said she was thinking in the $250 range. I have some OK rods that I really like (couple of falcons and a couple of St. Croix's) and the rest are some pretty old All-Star from the 90's which I still really like.
I know there are some nice brands out there like Loomis but I have never had the pleasure of fishing with those kind of price ranges. Im mainly a worm/jig style fisherman. Any advice/experiences with these kind of rods would be appreciate. The advice on this forum is always top notch and all of you have certainly made me a better fisherman.
Thanks.

+1 This sounds like the overwhelming favorite on here. I see and hear more about the Dobyns line of rods than almost any other. Dobyns - Champion Series Rods If you break it and its' there fault they'll replace it for free. If you break it and its' your fault they'll replace it for $60.

Check out TFO and Dobyns. Ya TFO and Dobyns don't need to be in the same sentence. Always has amazed me why someone will spend 150$ on one of those TFO rods.

Another vote for Dobyn's. Maybe a 683C or 703C. Their more than $150 though. Something like $250. You can go down to the Savvy series similar rods SS664C or SS703C for about $160-$170. Still a little higher than you want to spend.

Their craftsmanship give them a look of even higher quality. Dobyns Rods are great also, but I personally dont hold with all the hype about all levels of Dobyns. Champion Extreme are great rods, but i think you can still put TFO in the same sentence with the Champion and Savy Series.
