Hey Lee. I went there this morning and it was smooth sailing. Looks like that part of 820 is about done

820 Fixed - Hope so. Man that has been in a mess for a long time now it seems. I have to go to a doctor over in North Richland Hills going that way: Over three years now and seems almost every time I go that way it's changed, usually not for the better.
Heart goes out to anyone having to drive that every day.
Thanks for the update....will have to stop over at Anglers Pro Tackle next trip coming back.
Sure hope this Gander Mountain is better than I have heard. Sounds like all 'Nays' and no 'Yeahs'...

I went to the Ganders in Arlinton just to kill some time and look around. After being a avid customer of BPS and Cabelas, and Academy my first impression was that the place was small in floor space. So they don't have the amout of gear the other stores carry. The place was very neat and clean, the salepersons were very friendly. One of the floor supervisors came up and introduced herself and asked all the right questions. I know new store, and everyones been coached etc.
But the prices for what I would buy were competitive, and the shelves were full. ALSO she told me they would match any competitors prices !!
Lake Worth and west Ft Worth needs all the business it can get, it's been in a long recovery since the Carswell and General Dynamics glory days..
I hope they do well, I'm all for new businesses. When Cabelas first showed up in Ft W I thought they were expensive, seems like if your a good shopper you can find some great deals there.

We have one in Mesquite .. prices are comparable to Bass Pro .. Higher than Academy ,but its selection is much more limited then Academy or at least the one in Mequite ..dumb of them to open it right by Academy . I've gone it in three times and its been really empty.

Would be nice to see more, many more businesses on the west side of town.

Lee don't believe everything you read on the internet, they have some decent lure selections. If you tell them what you want, they will stock it. They sell some senko imitation baits that are really decent in 40 count packs. While I admit that they are really soft and tear real easy, but your not paying $6 for 8 baits. Your paying $19 bucks for 40. It's better than driving to NRH even if you have to pay $5 for a pack of Lake Fork Ring Fries.

That place can sit and spin on a fire hydrant. If they were my only option to buy fishing gear, I'd start making my own.

The guy up there saying nice things must be an employee. Not only does that place have horrific selection and customer service, but the prices are so insane it'll make you violent just seeing them.

Very good store for gun deals
I feel like they are lacking a little in the fishing dept
But they do have a few items and brands that academy and wal Mart dont carry
I will always browse the fishing section and usually always get something lol

They were great in Colorado but suck here. They had some insane clearances there that made it worth going in Colorado for sure. I STILL have unopened plastics and baits that i got for 2-15CENTS per pack on clearance.

The "clearance" baits here in the Houston stores are higher than Academy regular prices.......
