Leonardo, your correct in stating that fishing is a passion. I can say I have definatly have the bug, always have. If I can find a puddle, I'll wet a line, just to see whats in there. Just check out the post " When in Rome, or Iraq ".

I was not discouraged or whining in my earlier posts, just trying to set myself up for success. Thanks for the "smack", just like something my Dad would do. LOL rolfmao

That being said... we got out of class a little earlier today, so I actually had a couple hours of daylight to work with. I pikced up some shrimp and cruised up to the Pine Gulley Pier. There were about 5 other vehicles there, so I'm thinking "hey, this could be it" woot

The tide was still out so it was pretty shallow, even at the end. a couple guys were throwing small baits and catching 6" drum? They did not even know! But I was looking for something a little bigger, so I did'nt bother to tie on a smaller hook.

I had a few hits, probably the same thing they were hitting, but nothing to speak of. hammer

It was a beautiful sunset, and a wonderful adventure. Having never done this before, I believe I will have to make a return trip when conditions are better for catching. cheers

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions from everyone on the forum. flehan Till next time

Around the pilings is really good. There are lots of stingray in the area, and lots of big reds and drum. If you can handle it, I've wade fished with two poles, one with gulp on a cirlcle hook under a popping cork, and bass assassins. Throw the gulp out with the tide, and cast up and down the flats checking my cork frequently. Gulp hold up pretty good to the crabs. Good luck.

Well as I was leaving town, I stopped off to pick up some jumbo shrimp (for eating)and saw that the tide had come back in. Just about everyone was out fishing. Plenty of boats as well as waders. If I did'nt have to be in Big D tonight, I would have been out there as well. Hope they are catching them, cause I sure did fatten them up some.

Troutmauler, I was doing so-so with two on the shore and pier. I think with wading it will have to be one rod. And I am definatly going to try that gulp when I get back down there.
