I had them in Roanoke every where the builder spread cheap sandy loam. I fought them with MSMA. individual plants with Roundup and by pulling, finally I rid of them by burning early one fall. I moved out a few years after burning so I do not know if the eventually came back. I have not seen one since I moved to Fate. Good soil and healthy grass is best control.
