 Offshore POC ... First trip of season!

Took the new boat down to POC this past weekend. Wife and I and good friends! Friday was a little rough, Saturday was smoother but late start with storms and Sunday was great!! Big shout out the Chris at Classic Fiberglass in Denton. He gave the boat a big makeover and new rigging. He and his team are first rate!!  And FYI.. An ipilot with this 72" shaft is awesome for offshore... Spot lock instead of messing with an anchor... ROCKS!!!    Caught a total of 16 species... Brandon with daughter Lacy and Son Dawson with kingfish limits..  Lacy with one of her first...  Me with a keeper ling and one of the MANY "endangered snapper" we caught..   The catch... Huge hammer head. Brandon fought this thing for a good 45 min.. He was dumping the reel and we had to do some boat chasing...awesome fish!!!   Good blacktip shark  We had a UFO hit our trolling rig and was screaming that TLD... BUT.. Threw the hook..  My wife, Gabrielle, battling a blacktip wicked tuna style...  Headed back next weekend!!! Weather permitting, gonna try to get out deeper next week...

Awesome trip! That hammerhead is a great catch. I saw one about ten years ago at the city rig out of POC, came under the boat chasing a king we had on. I have been dreaming about catching one like him ever since, and ya'll did!

we hit that triple rig out of the jettys twice and had a UFO wrap me in the rig and break me off... other than that all we caught there was bait... think that thing gets fished to death..

right on...POC rocks and the boat looks great! Great idea on extending the shaft for tha' cat.
