 Finally found a few of the pigs!

I finally figured out where Pat is fishing! No, just kidding, but headed out to the Brook this evening for a few hours. Managed to find a few decent fish, and instead of a 10:1 dink ration, it was about 1:1. Managed 16 keepers, one at 16" and several at 14" and 15" and an 18" catfish. Had one I swore was a bass, pulled it up, and it was a big ol crappie. Didn't take many pics, might get one tomorrow, when I clean them. Managed a few doubles as well. All were caught on handties, mostly mine, but a few came on Jigums and a few others from our swap. They were really taking my Rosey tye, and the orange/chart one I tied for the swap.

That was a fun day for you. I did not believe 16" crappie existed in area lakes, glad to hear I was wrong. It must be a ton of fun catching crappie on jigs you created yourself.

That was a fun day for you. I did not believe 16" crappie existed in area lakes, glad to hear I was wrong. It must be a ton of fun catching crappie on jigs you created yourself. I had this one last spring. Not quite 16", but pretty darn close:  It is fun. They are also caught on rods I built. A 9' casting rod and a 9'6" spinning. They are out of steelhead blanks, and have plenty of backbone to pull a 2+ fish over the side of the boat. I was holding the two tandem crappie up with the handle of the rod when I took the pic. Here is a pic of the two I caught the most biguns on...the orange/chart one  And this one...my Rosey Red:

That one in the Livewell is what its all about! I get crappie fever when i pull one up that big and they look like a bass when your pulling em up to! Good Job.
