I'm sure most would agree that $20 to launch at a ramp that is secure and you have piece of mind while on the water that everything is safe. But to say that most spend more on ice and drinks, which is also true but that doesn't seem like a good argument of justification to me.

It doesn't matter to me, if people pay $200 to launch their boats, to me $20 seems high, if it is just a place to launch and offers no security. To each his own

That's a great idea. Imagine if a boat ramp offered this service. Would be really handy for guys that are fishing alone. Just jump in your boat, they load you in, and they park your truck. Call 'em when you're coming back to the ramp and they back the trailer and pull you out. Now that would be worth $20. (plus a nice tip)

But then what would we have left to complain about?

I am sure no place is 100% secure but I have never heard of an incident there - in sharp contrast to all of the public ramps on the lake. they keep the riff-raff out. I have never been worried in the least when launching there. $20 is pretty steep though, if I was just he!! bent on fishing RH I would definitely pay it before rolling the dice anywhere else.

I guess when the poor fisherman goes to the ramp they can hope that the Ski Boats will pay it forward.

I understand that the Marina's have taken a hit having to add to the ramps and moving the boat docks out. but, Really!
But when they have paid the ramp off for what it cost them to build it, they should have lower launch fees. How many years has this ramp been here? I am sure it has been paid off many times over!

Let me finish this for you. You are entitled as an American to free ramp usage. These folks should pay to build a ramp and marina and maintain it for "the little man"

What's their justification for raising it from $15 to $20? Just simple rising costs? Or b/c they are getting more traffic since the 66 ramp is unusable?

20 bucks.. Holy [censored].. WOW.. I would definately go out of my way to avoid paying twenty bucks to launch a boat.. Especially if they aren't providing a stewardess for the trip.. Who is making a killing on that deal ?

$20 seems like pretty cheap insurance to me. Every time there is a theft at a fishing tournament folks scream about security at motels and marinas. Most say they'd be happy to pay a little extra, say $20, to have full-time security to watch their stuff.

Can't have it both ways. Pay and park secure or don't and get your stuff stolen or vandalized.

Exactly!

That's crazy as hell
Never fished that way, can I ask why it's so high?
Is it just because they can get it, or what

Come on down to Lake Travis. The couple of ramps that are still useable are $35 & $40 to launch.
