[quote=TarponFly]The 24th and the 25th of this month are open. Problem with those dates is, you're on the third week after a stocking. Won't be a lot of fish in there, but will still catch a few.

So would we do better the first of october or whenever next stocking is? I havent made hard reservations yet as maybe secluded acres would let me bump the cabin to then, if not I guess im stuck with those dates and being beginner flyfishers we probably would struggle to catch any? What would you advise

They're supposed to stock on October 2. The only date I have left open is 11 October.

The first and second week are okay. The third week after stocking is not usually as fun.

Had a 9 yr old client Saturday so I actually snapped a few pics. His dad took more pics. So maybe we will see them soon.

He picked up the fly rod fast and had a blast jumping 15-19 inch trout.

Olive Near Deers wacked them as usual.

Not including dinks, I still had a 20 plus fish day. Quality fish that would have been great, oven baked or grilled. But, all were released for another day.

Caught fish in spillway creek, lost creek, and Evening Hole area.

Great pics. Makes me feel good to see children having fun fishing. He will build up a lot of memories with his dad.

I fished SC on Sat Am behind Carey and Woodruff... Carey's client must've fired them up because they would come 3' to hit a Neer Deer and the fun had just begun.

Clouds came and went and fishing tighten up. I saw a lot of 16" fish on stringers leaving the creek.

Saturday Pm it was pretty tough to get a bite.

Sun. SC was hurting, fish were afraid to move out of the depths and what did eat wound up getting ate.

By Sunday Pm. from cold hole to cardiac hill had folks in it and very few fish left.

In my opinion, OK has to either stock more often, or stock more fish IN MORE LOCATIONS in all 3 zones.

Dropping 100's in the pools wont last 1 week. It's amazing how many people have learned to catch every fish in the creek or the poor guys are just starving by the 4 day not knowing how to eat small browns or crawdads for food.

If you're headed up there on a 3rd week you have to fish slow and low and have patience, or use worms n minners.

Fished friday the 19th and alittle on the 20th. Friday fishing was fantastic. Not sure if the river got some new fish or what, but Spillway Creek was full of aggressive, silver-colored fish. These looked awfully like the mitigation fish in the past - they had sores and their gills were clipped. Most were 13-18", but a few were bigger. Neer Deeres with various zebra midges dropped off the back ruled the day. I also caught a few on mini-eggs and caddis droppers. The wild baby rainbows are growing nicely. Most are 5-7" and pretty fat. Several times I would hook one of them and the larger fish would try and eat them. I landed one baby with two sets of teeth marks from a 20+ brown that was chasing it. Pretty fun stuff.

In about 15 hours on the river I landed about 40-50 fish. Nothing huge - 1 fish pushed 22". My buddy Dan did a ballet dance landing a nice rainbow in Spillway. Wish I had video of that one! Eggs on the bottom, midges in the mid water column, and caddis on the swing caught fish. The EH seemed void of good fish - not sure why. Methinks we need a good cold weather snap to get the fish back into prime lies.

Spillway Creek is smelling awful these days. The lake may be turning over. after 2 days my waders smelled like bad eggs. It is worse the closer to the dam you are.

A good 1.5 day trip. I had a great time showing a newbie couple a little about LMF fly fishing. They both caught their first fly rod trout in about 10 minutes. They petted on Magick a lot too. Magick had fun as always and he got himself into a few deer and a turkey.

I will be going back after golf tournament season wraps up. Probably be there in mid october after Texas OU weekend.

Some of the fish I caught last week had their little gill flippers missing too, odd didn't know why.
